Hand-painted in 2022, this original painting explores my love for pushing the technical limits of painting, alongside a deep appreciation for developing the layers of meaning that underlie my work.
This painting emerged from a series of questions around the nature of the serpent—not merely as the image of a snake, which in Western culture often connotes negativity—but as a representation of the powerful, undulating forces that underlie and shape creation. This was inspired by the notion of Kundalini, a form of divine feminine energy.
The interweaving colours, which coat the upwardly ascending, serpent-like form, take the viewer on a journey into the self that sits behind the perceptible world.
Anrahva is an invitation into a unique world—one to be lived with, contemplated, and returned to within your home or a space where you seek quiet and enjoyment.
